FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Product Information

1. What are generic/compatible toner cartridges?

Generic or compatible or aftermarket toner cartridges are specifically manufactured by a third party to meet or even surpass genuine branded/OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications with high standards of reliability and quality. They are designed to be 100% compatible and interchangeable with OEM toner cartridges. Cost per page is significantly lower with the use of generic/compatible toner cartridges.

2. Are your toner cartridges new or refills?

All of our generic/compatible toner cartridges are manufactured from scratch to comparable quality standards as OEM cartridges.

3. Will your compatible toner cartridges work just as well as the genuine?

Yes. Our high quality generic/compatible toner cartridges perform just as well as the OEM/genuine cartridges. All our cartridges are manufactured under ISO9001 Quality Control Standards, and ISO14001 Environmental Management Standards. The outer shell may be slightly different than genuine, however they can absolutely fit into your printer.

  • Toner
Premium refined high density toner powder ensures consistent print and delivering the correct yield.
  • Outer shell
Optimised moulded plastic structure that fits perfectly into the printer, prolonging the printer’s service.
  • Chip
Perfectly compatible chip ensures continuous and reliable printing performance.

4. So how many pages does a generic/compatible toner print?

Look for the ‘page yield’ in every product page. A toner cartridge’s page yield is the estimated number of pages can be printed. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage; this means that the quoted page yield is based on printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with toner. For example, a short word document has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a toner cartridge that has a yield of 2,000 pages, it can print 2,000 pages of that short word document. The answer to the question is that the page yield is comparable to OEM cartridge.

5. Since your toners are cheap, do they have less page yields?

As an online business, we have a reduced overheads and therefore this gives us the opportunity to provide you with the very best compatible toner cartridges, also at a heavily reduced price without compromising on quality or quantity of your prints.

The page yield of each cartridge is stated in every product specification. Compare your existing OEM cartridges and you will see they they are more or less the same in page yield. Most of our toner cartridges have the same page yield (if not more) than the OEM cartridges. Depending on the toner and/or your printer models you are using, we stock standard/high/super high yield cartridges.

6. Will using generic/compatible toner cartridge void my printer warranty?

It is a common myth – and the answer is NO. Big printer companies want you to keep buying their cartridges. Contrary to claims by those original equipment manufacturers/OEM, using any of the generic/compatible toner cartridges will no void your printer warranty. According to Australian Trade Practices Act, it is illegal for a printer manufacturer to require their consumer to use a particular brand of toner supply (Australian Market Information).

7. I have just ordered a toner cartridge, how will it be packed?

Every toner model comes in different sizes and shapes. As a general reference, depending on the toner model, our compatible toner cartridges comes with a protective cap; it will be sealed in a sealing bag, covered with a bubble bag, and then packed in box for maximum protection. The picture below is a general indication of the packaging content of a toner cartridge. Colour of the packaging as well as model labels varies across different toner models.

Technical Support

1. How do I store my toner cartridges?

  • Keep your toner cartridges horizontal, NOT vertical.
  • Always store laser toner cartridges at room temperature (less than 35 and above 10 degrees celsius), and away from places with excessive humidity.
  • Never expose laser toner cartridges to direct sunlight, as some parts in the cartridges are photosensitive.
  • Keep your toner cartridge in its original sealed bag until it is to be installed into a printer. Use cartridge within 1 year of purchase.
  • Hold the cartridge handle or the main frame at all times. Avoid touching other components such as the electrical components of the cartridge.(I.e.: the chip, PCR roller, OPC drum).

For more information, go to Cartridge Care & Installation Guide.

2. What if my toner cartridge looks completely different and smaller than than what I saw on your product page?

Please note that the photos on the product pages are indication only. Actual appearance such as design appearance and sticker placement may slightly vary. Please be reassured that our toner cartridges are 100% compatible.

For most printers, when you open up the printer cover to pull out the cartridge, you are actually pulling out the combined drum unit and toner cartridge – they are separate units. Make sure that you are trying to install the toner cartridge by slotting it into the drum unit first, and not straight into the printer.

3. How do I install a compatible toner cartridge?

A compatible toner cartridge essentially works the same as an OEM toner cartridge. As every cartridge model is different, it is recommended that you refer to your printer operating manual. We only provide general installation guide.

For more information, please refer to Cartridge Care & Installation Guide.

4. I have just installed a new toner cartridge, why is there 'ghosting' or shadowed area on the printed page?

There are a number of ways that you can try to solve this:

  • Take the cartridge out and make sure there is no excess toner or paper stuck on the rollers;
  • Give the cartridge a gentle shake from side to side to loosen the toner inside (preferably, do this gently at outdoor area or over a newspaper);
  • Run approximately 10 pages through the printer to and check if it clears up.

For more information, please refer to Cartridge Care & Installation Guide.

5. Can I refill your compatible toner cartridge after it is finished?

Although there are some toner refill kits out there, we absolutely do not recommend refilling a toner cartridge, not even with genuine cartridges. Since you are dealing with toner powder, the process of opening the cartridge and pouring the toner powder can be very messy and quite complex. Tampering our compatible toner cartridges in any way will void your warranty. Please be reassured that our compatible toner cartridges are already very competitive in our prices. You only need to replace, plug and play.
